The Southside Melbourne Flyers are excited to announce the signing of Haley Peters, a seasoned forward with international experience, ahead of the 2025 WNBL season.
Peters returned to the WNBA in 2025 with the Connecticut Sun, marking her first regular-season action since 2019. Over the course of the season, Peters provided steady contributions off the bench, showcasing her versatility, leadership, and professional experience at the WNBA level.
Known for her versatility and leadership, Peters has played for several WNBA teams, including the San Antonio Silver Stars, Washington Mystics, and Atlanta Dream. Her international experience includes stints in France with teams such as Lyon, Charleville-Mézières, and Villeneuve-d'Ascq, where she honed her skills and gained valuable international experience.
Speaking on her signing with the Flyers Haley expressed she’s:
“Excited about the opportunity to discover anew league and play in Australia.
I’ve only heard positive things about the league here and players’ experiences.
The Flyers came highly recommended as a club and after my conversations with Kristi, I felt like it was a good fit for me to play at a high level, improve as a player even at this stage in my career, and help build a winning team around the young talent that is here.”
Head Coach Kristi Harrower is thrilled to add Haley to the line-up saying:
“We are really fortunate to have Haley join the Flyers.
She brings an all-round game that will benefit the team at both ends of the court.
Her experience playing in the WNBA and Europe is a real bonus that all the players will benefit from.
Hayley's signing adds depth and experience to the Flyers' forward position, complementing the team's blend of youth and experienced talent.”
Fans can look forward to seeing Haley inaction for the first time in our season opener at John Cain Arena this Saturday at 2pm. Limited tickets are still available and can be purchased here through Ticketek.
