Makenna Marisa has farewelled the Flyers to continue her career in Europe. Makenna joined the Flyers this season and was at the Flyers home game against Adelaide Lightning last Saturday before flying out to Germany early this week.
“This was a very difficult decision for Makenna and for the Flyers, but in the end, this was in her best interest. With reduced court time in recent games, and the opportunity to build her career back in Europe, we believe, as she does, that this is best for her career,” said Flyers coach Kristi Harrower.
“Making this decision even more difficult, it is not just about basketball, it is about the type of person Makenna is. We have been fortunate to have such a quality person as part of our team this season. Forever the team player, her attitude on the court and around the team is a reflection of the wonderful person she is.” Kristi added.
On behalf of everyone involved with the Flyers we thank Makenna for what she brought to the club and wish her the very best, not only in her basketball career, but in life.
