Dual Championship player, Bec Cole, is leaving the Flyers after deciding to continue her career in New Zealand.

Bec has been with the Flyers since the team was established after joining from the Dandenong Rangers in 2019, and was captain of the Flyers' 2023/24 WNBL Championship team.

A fan favourite, Bec has always 'left it all out on the floor' with her 'heart and soul' performances in her six seasons with the Flyers. Her attitude on the court, together with her off court demeaner and always having time for supporters, endured her to fans of all ages.

Flyers fans were privileged to see Bec in her golden years, and she leaves the WNBL after an incredible career which has included seasons with the Melbourne Boomers, Dandenong Rangers, and of course the Flyers.

Her incredible work ethic enabled her to overcome more injury setbacks during her career than most athletes have endured, becoming a poster person for resilience, hard work, and determination, following serious knee injuries early in her career.

A Flyers MVP, a WNBL All-Star Five, and runner up in the WNBL's most valuable player are just some of the achievements that Bec has earned, along with representing Australia.

"Bec has been a wonderful player and ambassador for the Flyers. Her drive and determination to be the best she can, is a credit to her and it has been wonderful to watch her career at the Flyers," said Flyers owner Gerry Ryan.

"Bec has been a role model for this team and has been involved in the community, encouraging others to follow her lead, to inspire young females to be involved in sport.

"Thank you, Bec, you will always have a special place at the Flyers, and we wish you the very best on your move to the New Zealand league," Gerry added.
